Hi, I'm Dr. Patricia Hunter

You are a successful, accomplished professional, now feeling bored to death by the repetitive routines that make up your daily existence, and the low expectations of people around you…

  • You are a successful, accomplished professional, now feeling bored to death by the repetitive routines that make up your daily existence, and the low expectations of people around you.

  • You are tired of spending time worrying about the negative aspects of your future involving only decline, and having nothing positive on the horizon that could inspire and uplift you..

  • You are  aware of the frequent microaggressions that lead to feeling ‘less than’ ( you once did about yourself)  and self conscious about being  seen primarily  as  an older person without an identity unique to YOU.

  • You miss seeing yourself as attractive and powerful, now that you are not going to the office anymore, and you loathe hearing people natter on about illness and senior moments,’ as if that is all there is.

You use intention and concentration to pursue cognitive, physical, and emotional challenges, with vigor and resolve.

  • You present yourself to the world, as the attractive man (woman) you are, caring about how you dress, move and come across, with people of all ages.
  • You embrace the principles of HEALTHY AGING , and reject beliefs of TOXIC AGING, knowing that HEALTHY AGING can add meaningful years to your life.

  • You believe in your own purpose, and know this contributes to the quality of your life in profound ways.

  • You exude energy and hope, and spend your remaining time on earth pursuing your heart’s desires.

  • You become the person you long to be, filled with vitality and life, and share your wisdom with those you love.

  • You feel energized and able to give your very best to everyone you work with, because you get to choose how and when you work.

  • The greatest Indian sage Shankara’s phrase “We grow old and die because we see others grow old and die” no longer applies to you. You become more aware of toxic social conditioning and learn how to find your own truth.

  • You think of retirement and aging not as a prison, but as a learning process.

  • You have time and energy to be the best Mom, Dad, Husband, or Wife you can be.

  • You know that the brain grows new pathways whenever it is faced with new tasks, and you plan activities that act as a ‘brain gym’ for your mind

  •  You value your core emotions and discuss how you are feeling with others on a regular basis

The four key steps unhappy retirees use: to go from toxic aging to healthy aging and a successful happy retirement.

  • You understand what’s driving the toxic aging problem.
  • You create a strategy for life that focuses on nurturing the four key principles of healthy aging.

  • You identify only the areas that bring you the most purpose and joy, and create a lifestyle focused on fulfilling them.

  • Remember that, simply put, there are basically two types of retirees:

RETIRED INTO MISERY – coping with endless health challenges,  depression, addiction and marital conflict  (people left unprepared for the challenges retirement brings)

    And people

RETIRED INTO PURPOSE – using the areas of  purpose, passion, principles and play. (people helped to understand and prepare for the challenges retirement brings)

Let me introduce

My Background

When my mother was in her late sixties, I saw her treated differently by the people around her. She had always been attractive, and friendly, and to me she still was, but I witnessed others treating her with indifference, impatience, and less respect. I saw her confidence diminish, her spark start to dull. I was enraged.

I saw it in my older patients as well, their feeling ashamed of getting older, lowering their expectations, not caring as much about themselves. Jokes about aging, ways of diminishing their accomplishments and prospects for the future, became bad habits.

I realized nobody had taught them how to approach retirement with strategies to counter TOXIC AGING beliefs.  I began to study Deepak Chopra’s AGELESS BODY TIMELESS MIND, a book about how aging involves social conditioning, and how our beliefs about aging can make it worse or make it better.  I incorporated these ideas with cutting edge research, to teach my mother,  and then all of my older patients,  to enjoy and value themselves, and their present life, as much as what they had done in the past.  They developed new ways of seeing themselves and their lives. They began to LIVE.
